Electron + React
Wraps LEGEND POS into a native Windows desktop application with its own icon, installer, and offline runtime. React powers the fast, responsive cashier interface, barcode scanning, receipt rendering, and real-time UI updates, no browser required.
Node.js
Handles the backend runtime for the Electron application, managing local database operations, file system access, and communication with the central server. Ensures lightning-fast transaction processing even on lower-spec hardware.
PHP + Admin System
Drives the central server logic: inventory management, pricing, M-PESA callbacks, KRA eTIMS submission, reporting, and the powerful web-based admin dashboard. The PHP backend ensures seamless data synchronization across all terminals.
MySQL / SQLite
Stores transactions locally first (SQLite) for instant offline access, then synchronizes to the central MySQL server. This dual-database approach ensures zero data loss and lightning-fast performance even during network outages.

Because LEGEND POS is an Electron-based native application, it installs directly on your Windows PC and keeps running whether or not you have an internet connection. There is no dependency on a browser tab staying open, and no risk of losing a sale because a webpage failed to load.

Multi-Terminal LAN Architecture
LEGEND POS uses a sophisticated multi-terminal architecture that allows unlimited cashier stations to operate simultaneously over a local network, with real-time synchronization and zero latency.
UDP Broadcast Technology
LEGEND POS uses UDP (User Datagram Protocol) broadcast technology to enable real-time communication between terminals and the central server over LAN. This ensures that stock levels, pricing changes, and sales are reflected across every terminal in the branch instantly, without each till needing its own internet connection.
Real-Time Sync
All terminals reflect the same live stock and pricing data in real time. When one terminal processes a sale, every other terminal knows about it immediately. No delays, no conflicts, no outdated information.
Unlimited Scalability
Add as many terminals as your business needs: there is no per-terminal licensing limit. The architecture scales seamlessly from a single till to a large supermarket chain with dozens of checkout lanes.
Single Point of Internet Dependency
